Spring Outfit #2

I found this fun mint green top at Maurices.  I love the ruffles on it.  I bought a similar top for my niece from JCP.  Then my mom found another ruffly top for my niece at Target.  My niece now has two ruffly tops.  She's becoming a girly girl early in life. :)
I found the coordinating belt at Target.

I wear the belt over the shirt to define my waist since the shirt is so long.
The back view showing the fluttery sleeves.
The front view.  I forgot to wear the belt that day.
A little bit better view of the front.  Maurices is fast becoming one of my favorite stores to shop at.  I'll be back soon with another Spring Outfit installment.  Clothes are so much fun!

Easter Treats

Before I get to my Spring Fashion #2 post I wanted to post a few fun Easter finds of late.  First, is this mint green and white dish towel.  I found it at Target and it was labeled Easter but I'm planning on using it year round.
 I love the pattern.
I had a few visitors the other day in the back yard.  They visit often.  I've seen a pack of 8 before.  They are so fun to watch.  My husband always says we live on a block that is a little bit urban and a little bit country.  The perfect mix I say.

The other day at Wal-Mart I discovered my favorite Reese's eggs come in white chocolate.  I die!  They are sooo good!
Here are my original milk chocolate favorites.
A new variation I discovered this year.  They have creamy peanut butter in the middle.
The original Cadbury creme egg.  It can't get any better than this.
Unless you throw some caramel in the middle to change things up sometimes.  I've been known to inhale Easter candy.  "It is my one weakness."  Speaking of which, my husband and I have been watching "Lark Rise to Candleford".  It is a BBC production that has the actor who plays Mr.Bates from Downton Abbey in it.  It is a sweet super clean but non cheesy show for those looking for wholesome entertainment.  Netflix has it if you have the DVD subscription service.  We also found it at the public library too.

Spring Outfit #1

Spring in Utah can be so fickle.  One day it is in the low 70's and the next we have a blizzard on our hands.  I took these pics when it was nice outside.  This is my peasant top.  I got my niece a yellow one kind of like it. You can see that in this past post.
I found it at Body Central's website.  It was on sale for $7.00.  It was such a steal.
I also found these light skinny jeans at Body Central for $22.90.  My first pair ever.  I'm kind of late jumping onto this trend.  I've never liked tight clothing but I'm getting used to them.

Here is the outfit put together.  I put a white t-shirt underneath for coverage.
The jeans have a 32" inseam so I had to roll them.  I'm only 5'5" tall.
When I wear my cowboy boots you can't tell that they are rolled.

I got the cowboy boots at my local C-A-L Ranch store.  I fit right in living in a rural town.  It's so fun to be a cowgirl some days.  I have to warn you though, boots like this are not cheap.  I think they were in the $80-$100 range.  They are Ariat Fat Baby's.
On warm days I wear these fun silver flower flip flops.  I got them from Chadwicks a couple of years ago.

And to top it all off I wear my favorite circle bracelet.  I found this at Hobby Lobby for $3.47.  You can glue jewels to the blanks but I like it just the way it is.  You can check out my "My Style" Pinterest board for more of my clothing finds here. I have more Spring outfits to post, so come on back real soon now 'ya hear?  Sorry, my cowgirl slang is coming out on my blog now.  :)

Easter Decor 2013

With St. Patrick's Day and Easter in the month of March I just decided to decorate for Easter.  My white pitcher came in handy for my pink flowers.
I found these cute pink and blue ceramic polka dot egg cups at Smith's grocery store.  They were only $1 a piece.  I just had to scoop them up at that price.  I just used the faux eggs I got last year at Macey's grocery store to put inside them.
A cute blue gingham cloth napkin completes the vignette.
This little ceramic flower shop was a gift from a great aunt years ago.  I put it out every year at this time.
It is so intricately detailed inside.  I love all the Easter bunnies.
And the cute back door.  Happy Easter everyone!

My niece's birthday gifts

My niece turned one a few days ago and she had a huge birthday party surrounded by family and friends.  I have been her nanny for the last year and it has been so fun to watch her go through the first year's stages.  Here are a few of her gifts from Aunt Michelle:

Of course I had to get her clothes since children's clothing is so adorable.  These jeans from Children's Place were on sale for $10.
Love the little hearts on the pockets.

I have a top similar to this one so I got her one too.  Her mom's favorite color is yellow so that's what I chose.  I found this one on JCP.com for $7.00.

I also have a top similar to this ruffly one.  This one is also from J.C. Penney's website. It was $7.00 as well.

The leggings were $4.00 from JCP.com.
Everything can be mixed and matched and she can get so many different combos out of just a few pieces.
Can you all tell I have a little obsession with kids clothes.  I even created a Pinterest board on the topic here.

Playing in our own backyard

My husband and I live in a small condo so we have to get outside and into the open spaces around us just to keep our sanity.  This is one retreat we like going to.
The snow capped mountains are so breathtaking.
I call this one the road to the middle of nowhere.  We would love to build a house out here some day.  Concentrated living (stacked apartments) is not our style but we continue to endure.
Just being able to visit this open space often is pretty good too.  We weren't getting much cell service out here and the grocery store and schools are quite far a way too.  Just weighing the pros and cons of extreme rural living.
