Hints of Spring

Spring is just around the corner...I can feel it in the air.  And so can the plants.  My friend gave me some cut branches off of her pussy willow tree and they are brightening my office as we speak.  They are even growing roots in the water so my sister might be getting a pussy willow tree in the near future (condo living and HOA's are not conducive to planting your own trees in the yard).
They are so soft to the touch.
Then my Christmas Cactus decided to bloom (this is the first time in the 3 years I've had it).  It bloomed for me on Valentine's Day.  It's a late bloomer, it must take after its caretaker ;)
 The buds before they opened.
And the flowers in all of their glory.

I'm looking forward to the warmer temps of Spring so I can finally get back outside.

More Party Invitations

I was asked to make about 20 of these for a Young Women's activity. It had a Spring theme. I found the supplies at Hobby Lobby and Michael's of course. Where else do I shop?

Spring Home Decor

The calendar says it's March 3 so I decided to decorate for Spring. Though, we have just gotten a ton of snow after a very spring like warm winter. I found the glass candlesticks at Hobby Lobby. The greenery balls are from The Quilted Bear.
I couldn't resist this white pitcher with flowers embossed on it. I found it on sale at Michael's. I already had the artificial flowers. I probably found those at Hobby Lobby.
I had this black beaded garland that I found at the Quilted Bear that I just wrapped in circles around my mixing bowl arrangement.
A close up of the white pitcher. It is going to be so versatile to decorate with every season. I love pieces of home decor that I can leave out and change up what I put inside.

This arrangement is on my coffee table. I already had everything on hand. I found the glass stones at either Hobby Lobby or Michael's. The wire bowl is from The Quilted Bear.

Showing the glass theme I have going on in my living room. With St. Patrick's day just around the corner I figured my decor would be just right with all of the green. Wishing you all a wonderful Spring season. Cabin fever is about to end. Yay!

A spring time treasure

Have you seen anything cuter than this baby lamb print? This Etsy artist also prints this image as cards so you can send this little guy to brighten someone else's day too. He looks so soft. I just want to reach out and touch him. :) BAAAA!

An upcycled garden box

Spring in Utah is so fickle. One day we have 70 degree temps and the next we have 8-10 inches of snow. Because I was stuck inside this weekend, I decided to create a garden box that wouldn't need watering or sunlight.
My sister donated an old peach box she was getting rid of to the project. She is always giving me the best containers to up-cycle.
I bought a package of Basil dried naturals from Hobby Lobby (It looks like wheat to me).
Then I used some floral foam as the base and covered it with sheet moss (also found at Hobby Lobby).
Next, I just started sticking the "wheat" down into the floral foam, trying to evenly disperse it.

And there you have a no maintenance garden box to live in the house. I've had to resort to bringing the outside in to make up for all the snow outside.
