Jewelry making tutorial

Here are a pair of earrings that my sister-in-law and I made together.  She was so nice and gave me a little tutorial in person on how to make jewelry.
I came up with the turquoise blue and yellow part of the earring below and she added the topaz teardrop parts.  The yellows might not match perfectly but we were using what we already had and I was learning the technique.
This is a watch she and I created together.  Learning the stringing technique was a lot of fun.  Of course, turquoise is one of my favorite colors.

This is a neutral tone watch my sister-in-law put together for my sister.

Here is another earring in progress.
This is one I created on my own.  I can't decide which look I like best.
I love learning new creative arts.  I'm going to pursue this one and try to get better at it.  Creativity is so much fun!

Cross Stitch Refresher Course

I had learned to cross stitch as a youth in the Young Women's program of my church. I spent hours creating cross stitch projects. As time went on, however, life took over and I had forgotten how to do it. Luckily, I have now been called as a youth leader and one of the other youth leaders taught me how to do it again. Here is my first project. I plan on framing it and hanging it somewhere. Hopefully, I will keep cross stitching so I won't forget how to do it again. :)

Learning the art of Jewelry Making

My grandfather was a master at jewelry design and creation. I've decided to take up this hobby as well. This is a simple watch necklace I came up with.
To give me some basic instruction I bought this little book from Michael's. My sister-in-law gave me some jewelry making tools for my birthday so I already had those.
This is a bead board where I have started about 4 different necklaces or bracelets. I still need to get some more supplies but the design part of this new hobby has been so much fun. I would love any advice from any jewelry designers out there.

More Party Invitations

I was asked to make about 20 of these for a Young Women's activity. It had a Spring theme. I found the supplies at Hobby Lobby and Michael's of course. Where else do I shop?

Easter Decor

I got this idea from an Etsy find the other day. However, I was able to find these pretty little eggs at my local grocery store, Macey's, for a lot cheaper and I didn't have to wait for shipping. They were $7.49 for a package of 12 and I bought 2 packages to fill up this cute little wire basket I already had on hand. It feels like the eggs are made from a sturdy styrofoam. That means they won't break and I tried squeezing one just to see how durable they were and it didn't even leave a mark on it. I'm very happy with this little purchase. Happy Easter!

Spring Home Decor

The calendar says it's March 3 so I decided to decorate for Spring. Though, we have just gotten a ton of snow after a very spring like warm winter. I found the glass candlesticks at Hobby Lobby. The greenery balls are from The Quilted Bear.
I couldn't resist this white pitcher with flowers embossed on it. I found it on sale at Michael's. I already had the artificial flowers. I probably found those at Hobby Lobby.
I had this black beaded garland that I found at the Quilted Bear that I just wrapped in circles around my mixing bowl arrangement.
A close up of the white pitcher. It is going to be so versatile to decorate with every season. I love pieces of home decor that I can leave out and change up what I put inside.

This arrangement is on my coffee table. I already had everything on hand. I found the glass stones at either Hobby Lobby or Michael's. The wire bowl is from The Quilted Bear.

Showing the glass theme I have going on in my living room. With St. Patrick's day just around the corner I figured my decor would be just right with all of the green. Wishing you all a wonderful Spring season. Cabin fever is about to end. Yay!

Baby Shower decorations

Wow, it took me forever to get these up. But here they are. My sister's baby shower. I did all of the decorations and had a blast! My sister loves yellow and I love pink so that's where the color combo came from. She is having a baby girl any day now. This is her first baby. I found all the decorations at Zurchers. Love that store.
