Maurice's Dark Jeans #2

 Well I think I have had a long enough vacation from blogging.  It's those darn summer months when all I want to do is play outside.  I'm finally getting around to my second pair of dark jeans from Maurices.

  These are Silver jeans.  They are in the $50 - $80 range.  They aren't cheap but they fit like a glove.

 I absolutely love the design on the pockets too.

And me trying to do my best at modeling and photographing all at the same time.  Hope everyone is enjoying the Summer months and getting some play time in too.

Sunday Spring Outfit

 Today's outfit is a little more dressy since I was headed to church.  I love my yellow sandals from Aerosoles.  They are suede and so soft.

 I found them on sale and my brother got them for me for my birthday last year.  He wasn't excited about giving me this kind of gift, but I told him these shoes were what I really wanted more than anything else.  He gave in and I love them.  Got to love baby bros too.

 This long skirt is from a store in St. George, Utah called Urban Wear.  I mentioned it in this blog post.

 I paired it with a classic white shirt and pink sweater since it has been quite chilly for May.

I love pink and yellow together.  Mixing bright colors is the "it" thing right now.  Get creative with all of the fun colors available in stores. 

Maurice's Dark Jeans # 1

 I talked about my new dark jeans a while ago.  I'm just now getting around to the blog post.  Thanks for waiting.  This is one of two pairs I got from Maurices for Christmas.  I will feature the other pair in a separate blog post.

 I found them online because I hate going into the store and having to go through piles of jeans or to fall in love with a pair but they have run out of my size.  Because I am relatively short (5' 5") I bought these in short.  That's another thing I like about Maurices.  They have so many different inseams and sizes.  They have options for very tall girls and they even go shorter than these for those girls shorter than me (my sister Liz is 5' 2" and got an extra short pair).  Here is a handy link to the perfect pair of jeans tool on Maurices website.

 I of course fell in love with the back pocket scroll design.  Yep, those little circles are diamonds.  I love a little bling to add sparkle.

 The front button has a larger diamond on it with a few other small diamonds to accentuate the front pockets.

They are not tight at all.  I can actually breathe when I wear them.  Sorry skinny jeans, these are my new favorites.

I Love Stripes

 Again, if you keep things long enough they come back into style.  I have had this striped sweater and striped shirt for about 10 years.  Stripes are the "it" thing at the moment.  I love being able to get so much wear out of my clothes.  It makes it well worth the money I paid.  And I didn't pay very much for either of these things.

 Of course, the light blue skinny jeans are new and I talked about them in this post.

And my first pair of ballet flats are new too.  I found them on Cents of Style's website for $10.  Can't beat that price!  I discovered Cents of Style through the blog Whippy Cake.  I love Becki's style.  Now that I've got my stripes on I'm ready to face my day.

Stockton, Utah turns 150 years old

 We love any excuse to get out to Stockton, Utah.  Today they were celebrating the town's 150th anniversary.  They were celebrating with a grand fireworks show.  Before it got dark I took a few pics of the surrounding area.  This wind turbine is out at the Tooele Army Depot but Stockton is talking about creating a wind farm in the Stockton area as well.  Alternative clean energy at its best.

 This is Tab Mountain. It is the flat topped foothill shaped like the Tabernacle where they set off the fireworks.  The whole town had a great view of the fireworks.

 It was a beautiful day but it got a little chilly once the sun had gone down so I threw on my yellow cardigan from Sexy Modest Boutique. 

 The black bermuda shorts are from the same store.  I absolutely LOVE all of their clothes.  They have two brick and mortar shops in Utah County but I don't get out that way very often so it's a good thing they offer free shipping through their website.

 I added this bracelet to the ensemble.  I have had this bracelet since high school and it has come back into style.  If you keep things long enough they will come back in again.

Ready for my fun date night with Clark.  Of course, we had to stop by Cafe Rio for a quick bite to eat.  So yummy!

Spring Outfit #3

 My next Spring outfit incorporates one of my favorite patterns...polka dots.  I absolutely love them and they will never go out of style.  I found this top at Body Central.  It is very sheer so I'm wearing a basic black t-shirt underneath.

 I love the bow in front.  I wore my belt from Target for a pop of color.

 And of course I'm wearing my favorite JCP jeans from this post.

I got a couple more pair of dark jeans I will be sharing next time.  I finally jumped onto that bandwagon.  I'm just stubborn when it comes to new trends.  I have to ease into them.  I prefer classic timeless clothing that I can continue to wear for years and years.

Spring Outfits but no natural light

I wanted to do another post about my Spring Outfits today but there is no natural light outside.  It is a very grey and overcast Spring day.  Hopefully next week we will have some more sunshine.  Until then, I'll just leave you with a view of my closet.  It is like a pallet of color waiting to be coordinated, mixed, and matched.
